Boring Websites The Blog

About this blog

This is a blog about boring websites: the quiet, single-purpose, oddly pleasant corners of the internet, the unusual sites most people never find, and the curious subjects behind them. It is part of the Boring Websites webring, a small family of tiny sites that each do one useless thing well.

The five sites

They are wired together as a webring, with a small bar at the bottom of each that carries you to the next one, or rolls a die and sends you somewhere at random. The hub lists all five in one place.

What this blog covers

Short pieces about the web's overlooked corners: single-purpose sites, generative toys, digital oddities, dead-simple tools, and the ideas that make them interesting. Sometimes a site, sometimes the subject behind one. If it is small, strange, or does one thing unusually well, it fits here.

Following along

The best place to follow the network is Mastodon, where a small bot posts the day's rock automatically. New writing shows up here on the Blog, and you can see anything that has been submitted to Hacker News from this site. There is no mailing list, and there is not going to be one.
